Elwood in Mira Loma California
Elwood spent the second part of the particle phase study of SCOS'97 in
a trailer at the Union Pacific New Car Distribution Center in Mira
Loma. This site is only ~1/4 mile from many of the dairies in the Chino
area, and gave us the opportunity to sample air directly downwind of a
huge number of cows. You can see Elwoods sampling line sticking out of
the window on the right of the trailer. To the right of the trailer, you
see the particle sampling equipment operated by Professor
Glen Cass' group from Caltech.
One of the problems with this site was that there were
lots and lots of flies...
On the other hand, we were rewarded with terrific sunsets.
